There are a few minuses as it pertains to cat possession, however. Quite a few people suffer from allergies to pet cat dander, which will make it difficult to be around cats. Cats, naturally, prefer to sharpen their claws. Many a feline has been known to ruin living room furniture with their claws, although a pet cat scratching post will often serve as a good substitute for the kitten.
Cats are incredibly popular as pets. Also, they are beautiful, fluffy and affectionate, but much more self-reliant than dogs. Most felines can be still left alone all day long (or even right away) without ill-effect. Felines tend to eat much less that puppies (with the exception of the toy variety of dog), plus they don't require double daily walks, interval training, or constant supervision. Pet cats and kittens are a breeze to house-train, too. Just give them a litter-box and some litter saved in a quiet nook of the cellar, and you will rest assured your kitten will litter train itself.
