Then your nine lives of the humble pet cat who only wanted to help mankind by getting rid of rodents that taken disease took a serious change for the even worse during the middle ages. Where witch hunts and burning up at the stake were typical. A person who didn't like cats somehow connected those to witches plus they were burnt at the stake with there owners. How they made that interconnection I'll never know. It started off with Pope Gregory IX in the 1232 who deemed the common house feline as diabolical. Then to make matters more serious in1484 along emerged the greatest kitty killer ever, Pope Innocent VIII, who decreed something such as all cats came from hell and really should delivered to the fires of hell by flame. Felines were mercilessly prosecuted and were burnt so they might return to the fires of hell. It really is amazing any survived because if you were caught with a cat you were burnt jointly. I still go to chapel and sometimes I simply wonder why. And of course the Black Fatality was in the backdrop surviving and flourishing because there have been no pet cats to wipe out the rats that carried the fleas that brought on the condition. Then along came up the cat's savior Ruler Louis XIII of France, who in the 1630s repealed regulations and cats once more began to live. However they were still hated and killed for many hundreds of years from then on. I don't know if the Black colored Loss of life subsided but cats once again protected mankind against the diseases taken by rodents. And the famines brought on by mice plagues.

Cats actually bring a few parasites, a few fleas plus some diseases and some can turn serious but not many. If pet cats were leading to too much sickness they might not have invaded our lives as well as they have. But you may still find people out there who do not like felines. When I first went to China about twenty years ago there were very few pet cats coping with people and very few wild pet cats. I was impressed because I've got cats all my entire life and I never thought people didn't like felines. But in China people said cats transported disease and that was it. I think that may have something to do with that cat sick and tired you get in your eyesight. Not serious simply a moderate problem for weekly And if you were pregnant you had to stay away from cats. I believe they were referring to toxoplasmosis, but if you get that when you are a kid it will not affect your baby. In addition they said cats were dirty but I don't think so. I believe cats are one of the cleanest domestic pets you can have. I think that came from the cats killing the rats and mice. Because rats are incredibly dirty family pets then because the cats killed and ate them they will also be dusty. A filthy by connection type of thing. Also there have been some big sewer rats operating round throughout the day. Once I noticed a rat and a pet cat face off each other and the feline wasn't much bigger than the rat. These were about a foot apart staring the other person out and the cat ran away. I'm not stunned the rat's pearly whites were bigger that the felines.
I believe one of the reasons there were few cats around is basically because they used to eat them. And every now and then the restaurant kitty catches would pick up an feline they could find and take them back to the restaurant. I recall seeing cats in glass exhibits out leading of the restaurants. But somewhere between then and now they banned eating pet cats. So cats are now not on the menu and today there are pet cats everywhere. Many of them began in someone's house and acquired thrown away, as most are incredibly friendly. Also they have this thing about tummy worms. And in those times China had not been as modern as now so abdomen worms is a problem. Fleas aren't really a problem because they may have tile flooring surfaces and wooden furniture.
