If this frame of mind towards cats goes back generations then one can understand why historians say the Black Death were only available in China. Where there are rats and no cats then the rats dominate and that could have been a precursor for the disease to get near people. Now once i get back to China you may still find rats playing around however, not so many in the enclosure estates. There are numerous down by the river. Also they employ a efficient rubbish clean up system that keeps the towns very clean. Where I stay the rubbish is collected everyday. That could also keep carefully the rat human population down. And with so many discarded pet cats running around the rats don't possess much of a chance. I've never seen this but I suspect the government accumulates a whole lot of cats. There used to be colonies of stray pet cats moving into some places however now I don't see them any more.
Cats actually hold a few parasites, a few fleas plus some diseases and some can turn serious but not many. If pet cats were creating too much sickness they might not have invaded our lives as well as they may have. But there are still people out there who do not like cats. When I first visited China about twenty years ago there were very few felines living with people and very few wild pet cats. I was surprised because I've got cats all my entire life and I never thought people didn't like cats. But in China people said cats transported disease and this was it. I feel that might have something regarding that cat suffering you get in your eyeball. Not serious only a moderate problem for weekly And if you were pregnant you had to stay away from cats. I think they were discussing toxoplasmosis, but if you get that whenever you are a youngster it should not affect your child. In addition they said felines were filthy but I don't think so. I think felines are one of the cleanest house animals you could have. I feel that originated from the cats eliminating the rats and mice. Because rats are incredibly dirty pets then because the pet cats killed and ate them they will also be filthy. A grubby by connection type of thing. Also there were some big sewer rats jogging round during the day. Once I found a rat and a cat face off the other person and the cat wasn't much bigger than the rat. These were about a ft . apart staring one another out and the cat ran away. I'm not astonished the rat's teeth were bigger that the cats.
Cats and mankind have been living in harmony for many years but that hasn't always been the situation. There have been times when cats have been almost destroyed in the name of God. And what took place the Black Loss of life reigned supreme for considerably longer than it should. So we will get back to the beginnings of recorded history to enough time of the pharaohs of Egypt. Here felines were revered as Gods and many were mummified to last for eternity. As the cats guarded the grain warehouses and killed the rats and mice that fed on the grain. Therefore reducing famines, that were the curse of Egypt. It had been illegal to wipe out cats in those days, like cows in India today.
