Ask any visitor that comes to visit to handle the puppy all over; coming in contact with the paws and feeling among the toes; using the ears; supplying restrained hugs; using the mouth and starting the mouth putting your finger on the puppy's tongue. If at all possible expose your pup to children and show them how to handle the dog properly. Always make sure when children and pups are playing jointly that they are supervised. You do not want the kids to try out too roughly with the doggy and you don't want the puppy getting so hyped up by antics of children and becomes uncontrollable.
Bringing home a new puppy is a lot of money of fun. Puppy socialization is the most important thing you need to focus on before your puppy reaches the age of 12 weeks. This puppy socialization period is recognized as the 'windows of opportunity' because it is the period of time when pet dogs learn best how to cope with the anonymous. Therefore, the more folks, puppies, objects, sounds and conditions the pup can be exposed to during this time period, the better. Puppy socialization to these new encounters helps the doggy to be a lot more confident as a mature dog when subjected to unfamiliar events.
