Ask any visitor that involves visit to take care of the puppy around; touching the paws and feeling in between the toes; using the ears; giving restrained hugs; using the mouth and opening the mouth placing your finger on the puppy's tongue. If at all possible expose your pup to children and train them the way to handle the puppy dog properly. Constantly be sure when children and young puppies are playing alongside one another that they are supervised. You do not want the kids to play too around with the doggy and you don't want the puppy getting so hyped up by antics of children and becomes uncontrollable.
A lot of puppy socialization may appear in the home environment - contact with loud banging noises, such as clanging pans and pots, vacuum cleaners, washing machines, grass mowers, etc.
Puppy preschool or kindergarten is a superb avenue for socialization with other pet dogs of an identical era. However, the discord arises from the question of doggie vaccinations "is it safe to have a puppy out during this time period?" This is a problem because on the one hands you want to teach your puppy to be sociable but keep carefully the puppy safe at exactly the same time.
