Cats and mankind have been living in harmony for many years but that hasn't always been the situation. There have been times when cats have been nearly destroyed in the name of God. And what happened the Black Death reigned supreme for considerably longer than it should. So we will get back to the beginnings of recorded history to the time of the pharaohs of Egypt. Here felines were revered as Gods and many were mummified to previous for eternity. As the cats guarded the grain warehouses and killed the rats and mice that given on the grain. Therefore reducing famines, that were the curse of Egypt. It had been illegal to get rid of cats in those days, like cows in India today.
If this attitude towards cats dates back generations the other can realize why historians say the Black color Death started in China. Where there are rats and no cats then the rats dominate and that could have been a precursor for the condition to get near people. Now whenever i get back to China there are still rats running around but not so many in the property estates. There are lots of down by the river. Also they employ a efficient rubbish tidy up system that helps to keep the cities very clean. Where I stay the rubbish is gathered everyday. That would also keep the rat people down. And with so many discarded felines running around the rats don't have much of the opportunity. I've never seen this but I believe the government accumulates a great deal of felines. There used to be colonies of stray felines surviving in some places but now I don't see them any longer.
