I think one of the reasons there were few cats around is basically because they used to eat them. And once in a while the restaurant kitten catches would pick up an kitty they could find and take them back again to the restaurant. I remember seeing felines in glass shows out leading of the restaurants. But somewhere within then and now they banned eating felines. So cats are actually not on the menu and now there are cats everywhere. Most of them began in someone's house and received thrown away, since several are extremely friendly. Also they have got this thing about abdominal worms. And in those days China had not been as modern as now so belly worms is a problem. Fleas are not really a problem because they may have tile floors and wooden furniture.
Cats actually hold a few parasites, a few fleas and some diseases and some can turn serious however, not many. If felines were causing too much sickness they would not have invaded our lives as well as they have. But you may still find people out there who do nothing like cats. When I first went to China about 20 years ago there were very few cats living with people and very few wild felines. I was surprised because I've acquired cats all my life and I never thought people didn't like cats. But in China individuals said cats transported disease which was it. I think that may have something to do with that cat sick and tired you get in your eyesight. Not serious simply a little problem for weekly Of course, if you were pregnant you had to stay away from cats. I believe they were discussing toxoplasmosis, but if you get that when you are a youngster it will not affect your baby. They also said cats were grubby but I don't think so. I think felines are one of the cleanest pets you could have. I think that originated from the cats killing the rats and mice. Because rats are very dirty pets or animals then because the cats killed and ate them they'll also be filthy. A dirty by connection kind of thing. Also there have been some big sewer rats operating round throughout the day. Once I observed a rat and a kitten face off one another and the feline wasn't much bigger than the rat. These were about a feet apart staring each other out and the cat ran away. I'm not amazed the rat's tooth were bigger that the cats.
