Cats actually carry a few parasites, a few fleas plus some diseases and a few can turn serious but not many. If felines were triggering too much sickness they might not need invaded our lives as well as they have. But you may still find people out there who do not like cats. When I first went to China about 20 years ago there have been very few cats living with people and incredibly few wild cats. I was surprised because I've had cats all my life and I never thought people didn't like cats. But in China folks said cats taken disease and this was it. I think that might have something regarding that cat suffering you enter your eyeball. Not serious simply a minor problem for a week Of course, if you were pregnant you had to keep away from cats. I think they were referring to toxoplasmosis, but if you get that when you are a youngster it should not affect your baby. They also said cats were filthy but I don't believe so. I believe felines are one of the cleanest house animals you can have. I think that came from the cats eradicating the rats and mice. Because rats are incredibly dirty animals then because the felines wiped out and ate them they will also be soiled. A dirty by connection kind of thing. Also there were some big sewer rats jogging round during the day. Once I noticed a rat and a kitty face off one another and the kitten wasn't much bigger than the rat. They were about a foot apart staring one another out and the cat ran away. I'm not stunned the rat's teeth were bigger that the felines.
Then your nine lives of the humble kitty who only wished to help mankind by killing rodents that carried disease took a significant turn for the worse during the middle ages. Where witch hunts and getting rid of at the stake were typical. Somebody who didn't like pet cats somehow connected these to witches plus they were burnt at the stake with there owners. The way they made that interconnection I'll never know. It started off with Pope Gregory IX in the 1232 who deemed the common house pet cat as diabolical. Then to make matters more serious in1484 along emerged the greatest kitty killer ever, Pope Innocent VIII, who decreed something along the lines of all cats came from hell and should came back to the fires of hell by flames. Pet cats were mercilessly prosecuted and were burnt so they would go back to the fires of hell. It really is amazing any survived because if you were trapped with a feline you were burnt jointly. I still go to church and sometimes I simply wonder why. And undoubtedly the Black Death was in the background surviving and growing because there were no cats to eliminate the rats that transported the fleas that caused the condition. Then along arrived the cat's savior Ruler Louis XIII of France, who in the 1630s repealed regulations and cats once more started to live. However they were still hated and killed for many decades from then on. I have no idea if the Dark Death subsided but cats once again shielded mankind against the diseases transported by rodents. As well as the famines brought on by mice plagues.
