Cats and mankind have been residing in harmony for quite some time but that has not always been the truth. There have been times when cats have been practically wiped out in the name of God. And what occurred the Black Death reigned supreme for a lot longer than it will. So we will go back to the origins of recorded background to the time of the pharaohs of Egypt. Here cats were revered as Gods and many were mummified to last for eternity. Because the felines guarded the grain warehouses and wiped out the rats and mice that given on the grain. Therefore minimizing famines, that were the curse of Egypt. It was illegal to eliminate cats in those times, like cows in India today.
Cats actually take a few parasites, a few fleas and some diseases and a few can change serious however, not many. If cats were leading to too much sickness they would not have invaded our lives as well as they may have. But you may still find people out there who do not like cats. When I first went to China about 20 years ago there have been very few pet cats coping with people and incredibly few wild cats. I was surprised because I've had cats all my entire life and I never thought people didn't like cats. But then in China individuals said cats transported disease and that was it. I think that may have something to do with that cat sick and tired you enter your vision. Not serious just a slight problem for weekly In case you were pregnant you had to keep away from cats. I think they were referring to toxoplasmosis, but if you get that whenever you are a kid it will not affect your baby. They also said felines were soiled but I don't think so. I believe pet cats are one of the cleanest household pets you could have. I feel that originated from the cats killing the rats and mice. Because rats are extremely dirty family pets then because the cats wiped out and ate them they will also be filthy. A dusty by connection type of thing. Also there have been some big sewer rats operating round during the day. Once I observed a rat and a kitten face off the other person and the pet cat wasn't much bigger than the rat. These were about a ft . apart staring the other person out and the cat ran away. I'm not surprised the rat's teeth were bigger that the cats.
Then the nine lives of the humble feline who only wanted to help mankind by eradicating rodents that carried disease took a serious turn for the even worse during the middle ages. Where witch hunts and using at the stake were typical. Someone who didn't like felines somehow connected them to witches and they were burnt at the stake with there owners. The way they made that interconnection I'll never know. It started off with Pope Gregory IX in the 1232 who deemed the normal house kitty as diabolical. Then to make things worse in1484 along arrived the greatest kitty killer ever, Pope Innocent VIII, who decreed something along the lines of all cats originated from hell and should returned to the fires of hell by flame. Cats were mercilessly prosecuted and were burnt so they might return to the fires of hell. It is amazing any survived because if you were caught with a pet cat you were burnt collectively. I still go to cathedral and sometimes I just wonder why. And of course the Black Loss of life was in the backdrop surviving and thriving because there have been no felines to eliminate the rats that carried the fleas that induced the condition. Then along came up the cat's savior King Louis XIII of France, who in the 1630s repealed the law and cats once again began to live. However they were still hated and killed for many hundreds of years from then on. I don't know if the African american Death subsided but cats once again protected mankind from the diseases taken by rodents. Plus the famines due to mice plagues.
