Ask any visitor that involves visit to take care of the puppy around; coming in contact with the paws and feeling among the toes; playing with the ears; providing restrained hugs; using the mouth and opening the mouth positioning your finger on the puppy's tongue. If at all possible expose your pup to children and educate them how to handle the doggie properly. Always make sure when children and pups are playing mutually that they are supervised. You do not want the children that can be played too around with the dog and you do not want the doggie getting so hyped up by antics of children and becomes uncontrollable.
Bringing home a fresh puppy is a bundle of fun. Puppy socialization is the most crucial thing you will need to give attention to before your puppy reaches the age of 12 weeks. This puppy socialization period is known as the 'window of opportunity' because it is the period of time when puppy dogs learn best how to cope with the unidentified. Therefore, the more folks, puppies, objects, sounds and surroundings the dog can come in contact with during this time period, the better. Puppy socialization to these new activities helps the puppy dog to be much more confident as a mature dog when subjected to unfamiliar events.
A lot of puppy socialization can occur in the home environment - contact with loud banging sounds, such as clanging pans and pots, vacuum cleaners, washing machines, grass mowers, etc.
