The unconditional love and unbridled joy a dog or doggie can truly add to your life is unmatched in your pet world. Canines are furry bundles of love, and dog ownership offers benefits. It teaches your kids to be good listeners, compassionate, and moral people. It helps kids learn how to be in charge of another living creature. And pet dogs do provide companionship.
There are a few minuses as it pertains to cat ownership, however. Quite a few people have problems with allergies to pet cat dander, which will make it difficult to be around cats. Cats, by nature, like to sharpen their claws. Many a pet cat has been recognized to demolish living room furniture using their claws, although a feline scratching post can sometimes provide as a good alternative for the kitty.
Cats are incredibly popular as domestic pets. They are also beautiful, fluffy and affectionate, but a lot more self-reliant than pet dogs. Most cats can be left alone all day (or even right away) without ill-effect. Pet cats tend to eat much less that pet dogs (apart from the toy variety of dog), plus they don't require twice daily walks, interval training, or constant supervision. Cats and kittens are a breeze to house-train, too. Just give them a litter-box plus some litter saved in a quiet spot of the cellar, and you may rest assured your kitty will litter train itself.
